What is Crystal Path?

Crystal Path is a role-playing game for the solo story-teller, offering guided journeys through the magical forests of Edenwood.

With a simple style of gameplay, requiring only a journal and one 20-sided die, the game gently guides players through rich experiences of creative journalling, story-telling, and intuitive play.

Set in Edenwood Valley and, more specifically, its enchanted forests, Crystal Path allows the witchy wanderer to explore the world of our tales through their own lens.

What’s Included

Guidebook

The Crystal Path guidebook is a digital PDF file which contains the following key sections:

Introduction ~ An overview of the game, it’s premise and purpose, as well as an overview of the materials you will need and how to use them.
Gameplay ~ Detailed instructions on how the game works, how to create your character, and how to run a game from start to finish.
Gameplay Resources ~ A printable map (also included as a separate JPG file), some world lore about Edenwood Valley, its realms, creatures, and magic. Guides for customising play, as well as inspiration lists for gameplay elements, such as flora and fauna, etc.
Gameplay Examples ~ Three example gameplay drafts have been included to demonstrate different styles and purposes of play, as well as how the game rules can translate into creative journal entries.

Reference Cards

Printable reference cards make gameplay easier as players won’t have to constantly scroll through the PDF guidebook to progress through gameplay, making for a smoother game experience.

The reference card files are A4 sized, but can be printed to fit US Letter paper. The cards, when printed at full size, trim down to A7 (74 x 105mm). Printing instructions are included.

Two printable PDF files are available:

Full colour for aesthetic cards which match the guidebook design; and
Black & white for a minimal design (with the benefit of saving ink!)

Game Development

This game is currently available in Beta Edition, and is free to download and play in digital PDF format (link below)! I am currently working on a First Edition, which will include expanded game mechanics, more detailed lore, and rich illustrations. This edition will be published in both print and digital formats.
